Looks to Rock: The Cat Eye Sunnies

My latest obsession is my Steve Madden tortoise shell, cat eye sunnies! I recently purchased these from Gordman's and I was totally shocked. I caught them out of my peripheral and had to have them especially with the price of $12.99. I am all about style on a budget. I had been searching all year for the perfect cat eye sunglasses. Whether its the winged cat eye liner or cat eye sunglasses I will be definitely rocking this look this season. Whats your look to rock this season?

Weekend Shenanigans!

Sami's Shenanigans
This is my first time linking up! Yay, anyways, back to the weekend of shenanigans....

Saturday: I spent the day shopping for Dustin's birthday and our anniversary.
I bought him a police shirt and Florida Gator gear. I also went to Caufield's which is a really cool halloween store. It also has other party supplies, but it is mainly Halloween gear! That night Dustin, my friend Erin and I went to Fear Fair. If you have never been to this haunted attraction in Southern Indiana, I highly recommend it! It's so worth it!
 {pictured below}

Sunday: Sunday I surprised my great grandma with KFC. Classy, right? but she loved it. Most of my day was spent on the farm walking through the woods. Afterwards, I went and spent my 5 year anniversary with Dustin. I am so lucky to have him!

OOTD: Polished Jungle

Boyfriend Blazer: via Gordmans $14.99 {similar} //  Tank: B. Jewel via TjMaxx $12.99 // Scarf: Kohls $11.99 on sale! // Girl Mia $55

Lately, while shopping, I have been searching for pieces that I can blend with more casual outfits while still being able to wear them dressy. I love this army green shift dress/tank top. I am not really sure what this is. I found it at TJMaxx on the clearnace rack. I knew I had to have it. 1 I am obsessed with this color for fall and 2 it fits my casualy dressy look. I paired this tank with leggings boots and a blazer for a more sophisticated look. Normally I do not dress up this much for class, but I had a meeting at school today. What do you guys think about this outfit?

10 Things my family accidentally taught me

I hope everyone had a good start to their October! So far I have been to 2 haunted houses this month and can't wait for more! Pictured below are some of my best friends.It was raining and gross, but we ended up having a good time.We told Dustin we were making a scary face lol.

 Here are ten things that my family accidentally taught me...
10.Grandma's can do it all! Am I right? I have yet to find one thing that my grandma isn't good at. Well besides drinking, but that's another post. ;)
9. You will never be more heartbroken than when your little sibling gets theirs broken.
8. Don't cry; just try. Yes, this is one from my good ole' dad. Anytime I started to get frustrated with something he was always there to add "don't cry; just try", which at the time was very annoying. (learning fractions for the first time. Am I right?) Now it is just something that I can say to my students when they are struggling with something. Thanks, Dad.
7. Horizontal Stripes are a no go. Yes, grandmas are full of knowledge, but this is a fashion emergency! Unless you are stick thin, horizontal stripes are most likely going to make you look wider than you need to be.
6. The fish bite the best at 5am or earlier. Don't believe me ask my dad because I too have yet to catch a fish this early.
5. You can make something out of anything. Be creative! Don't worry about not having the specific items! Improvise!
4. Baseball is boring. There I said it. Sorry, baseball fans.
3. Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty. Self explanatory.
2. You are not supposed to put ketchup on steak. EVER.
1. You can't love someone out of being a Kentucky fan. Sorry, guys.

Well their you have it! 10 things my family accidentally taught me. What are some things that your family has accidentally taught you?

FALL 2013 MUST HAVES: AZTEC SWEATERS

FALL 2013 MUST HAVES: AZTEC SWEATERS

My second fall must have is the Aztec sweater trend! I have a sweater similar number 4. It is soooooo comfy. I can post a pic of that if you guys want. I'm currently obsessing over these sweaters because not only are they comfy, but they are so versatile! They are light weight and breezy so they are really helpful for transitioning into fall.  I have already worn mine to class this semester and I received more than one compliment on it!  What do you guys think of this trend?

OOTD: Studded Nautical

Dress: Ruby Rox {love this} {and this} // Top: Forever21 {out of stock but easy to find}// Shoes: Mossimo

 This outfit was so comfy and I can't wait to wear it again! This dress was an absolute steal! I got it for under $10 at Peebles. Which in my opinion is a somewhat expensive store for the quality of the clothing that they sell. Like I said previously chambray is my new go to style. Plus the weather here in Southern Indiana is still hot during the day and cool at night it is easy to unroll the sleeves if I need too. I also love this chambray because of the studs on the shoulders. Kind of gives this nautical look an edgier feel. What do you guys think?

OOTD: Holding onto Neon

 Top: by&by similar similar $24.99 // Jeans: Forever21 brand $15.00 // Shoes: Mosimo c/o Target $15.00 // Necklace: Rue21 12.99 {cheaper in store} // Purse: Bar & Bar {gift}
As much as I have been loving fall I still love summertime more. I mean fall is where my neon wardrobe goes to die along with the leaves. It is still so hot here in southern Indiana and it is hard to fall into fall without having to climb my way back out for a tank top. This is where I have found that these sheer chiffon shirts come in handy. I literally found this shirt on the sale rack at JcPenney and had to have it. Some how they had my size in every color so naturally I had to buy them all. {they were on the $5 and up rack, a steal I know} I love these tops because they are covering your arms yet they let the breeze blow through so you are not dying on your hike to class. During the summertime I usually paired this top with a lace short or a white short, but like I said I am transitioning. I paired this will a dark wash jean with white gladiator sandals from Target. Which at first I was not a fan of this type of shoe, but I have worn these more than any of my other "flip flops". This is a simple and easy look to pull of for class when you are in a hurry or not so much. What do you guys think about incorporating neon into your wardrobe this fall?

OOTD: Sweater, Leather and Cheetah OH MY!

Sweater: American Eagle $34.99 {similar} // Scarf: Apt 9 {quick this is on sale}$13.99 // Boots: Girl Mia {similar}$55

I am so obsessed with fall right now. Most likely because it has just began! Today I pulled out some of my fave pieces for fall the leather, sweater and scarf. These three pieces totally make fall, right? Leather is so in this fall and i am jumping on board! So far the only leather pieces I have incorporated into my wardrobe are my boots and jacket. I have both cognac and black leather boots and only a brown leather jacket. I know I am slacking. What an I say I'm super picky. I am loving the t shirts with the leather cap sleeves. I am going to have to pick one or two of those up in the coming month. I have also been wearing my cognac riding boots every chance that I get. Too much? Another fall staple that I couldn't live without is my leopard scarf.  I am in love with this scarf. It is so perfect. It is long enough to do all the cool scarf folding and it is sooooo soft. This sweater is a white/creme color with a tight but stretchy knit. I am loving light-weight sweaters, but my torso is long so I have a hard time finding them to really fit me well. The ones that are longer usually fit me about right and the ones that are squared..well that is just a no go. Light weight sweaers are perfect right now because it is still 80+ here in southern Indiana. It is what I like to call a transition piece.
 What are your fall must haves this year?

OOTD: Chambray & Cognac {rules of leggings}

I can't wait to wear this outfit again. It is so comfy and plus oversize shirts, leggings and boots are the epitome of fall outfits. I now have two "chambray" shirts. The first time I purchased a chambray top was from forever21 and had studs on the shoulders. As I started wearing it more I decided I needed something more versatile. {if you guys want I can post a picture of that} I don't know if you guys know this or not, but there are rules to leggings. The first rule of leggings is ALWAYS wear a shirt or dress that is covering your bum. The second rule make sure your leggings aren't see through. I hate when I am walking around on campus or out in public and see a girl wearing leggings, but you can tell they are "shear". So not cute. It also took me FOREVER to find the perfect boot. I was super picky because I wanted a boot that I could wear often and with different styles. I have cowboy boots, but I need a show with a defined heel, solid color and high rise. I am in love with these boots they are so comfy! I will definitely be wearing this outfit throughout the fall season. What are you guys excited to wear this fall?

Chambray Top// JcPenney // $24.99 //{I got mine for 15.99 on sale}
Tank Top// Old Navy // $8.99
Boots// Girl Mia // $55
Leggings// Wal-mart // $8.99 //{these are literally so awesome for the price}
