Weekend Shenanigans!

Sami's Shenanigans
This is my first time linking up! Yay, anyways, back to the weekend of shenanigans....

Saturday: I spent the day shopping for Dustin's birthday and our anniversary.
I bought him a police shirt and Florida Gator gear. I also went to Caufield's which is a really cool halloween store. It also has other party supplies, but it is mainly Halloween gear! That night Dustin, my friend Erin and I went to Fear Fair. If you have never been to this haunted attraction in Southern Indiana, I highly recommend it! It's so worth it!

Sunday: Sunday I surprised my great grandma with KFC. Classy, right? but she loved it. Most of my day was spent on the farm walking through the woods. Afterwards, I went and spent my 5 year anniversary with Dustin. I am so lucky to have him!

OOTD: Polished Jungle

Boyfriend Blazer: via Gordmans $14.99 {similar} //  Tank: B. Jewel via TjMaxx $12.99 // Scarf: Kohls $11.99 on sale! // Girl Mia $55

Lately, while shopping, I have been searching for pieces that I can blend with more casual outfits while still being able to wear them dressy. I love this army green shift dress/tank top. I am not really sure what this is. I found it at TJMaxx on the clearnace rack. I knew I had to have it. 1 I am obsessed with this color for fall and 2 it fits my casualy dressy look. I paired this tank with leggings boots and a blazer for a more sophisticated look. Normally I do not dress up this much for class, but I had a meeting at school today. What do you guys think about this outfit?

OOTD: Campus Comfy

Indiana Sweatshirt via Target $30 // Jeggings {On Sale} via American Eagle $30  // Girl Mia Boots via Gordman's $55{similar}  // Sunnies via Target {similar} // Backpack: Coach
 Nails: Black Matte
I have found almost identical sunglasses at tjmaxx. Apparently mine are knock off's of Jessica Simpson.

Today's look is all about being comfy. Everyone has those days where they just want to throw on a comfortable sweatshirt and go to class. Well I have those days a lot. I am not gonna lie. ha! Very rarely do you see a fashion blogger confess this. Most of the time they are wearing heels and mini skirts. This is not practical for us "normal" people. I don't know about you, but what I post as my OOTD's is actually what I am wearing that day.

What do you guys think? Do you believe that fashion bloggers wear heels everyday or are they just dressing up for the camera?

Fall Wish List: Colorful Skinny Jeans

COLORED SKINNY JEANS! Yeah, I know I am so behind on this trend. So far I have only "regular" blue jeans. Boot cut, straight leg or skinny jeans I have them all minus the fact that they aren't in fun colors. Wah. So this fall I have made it my mission to gain colored skinny jeans. Preferably skinny jeans so I can tuck them into boots. Here are just a few colors that are at the top of my list to purchase this fall. What do you guys think?

Do you have colored skinny jeans? What colors are your must haves?

10 Things my family accidentally taught me

I hope everyone had a good start to their October! So far I have been to 2 haunted houses this month and can't wait for more! Pictured below are some of my best friends. It was raining and gross, but we ended up having a good time.We told Dustin we were making a scary face lol.

Here are ten things that my family accidentally taught me...
10.Grandma's can do it all! Am I right? I have yet to find one thing that my grandma isn't good at. Well besides drinking, but that's another post. ;)
9. You will never be more heartbroken than when your little sibling gets theirs broken.
8. Don't cry; just try. Yes, this is one from my good ole' dad. Anytime I started to get frustrated with something he was always there to add "don't cry; just try", which at the time was very annoying. (learning fractions for the first time. Am I right?) Now it is just something that I can say to my students when they are struggling with something. Thanks, Dad.
7. Horizontal Stripes are a no go. Yes, grandmas are full of knowledge, but this is a fashion emergency! Unless you are stick thin, horizontal stripes are most likely going to make you look wider than you need to be.
6. The fish bite the best at 5am or earlier. Don't believe me ask my dad because I too have yet to catch a fish this early.
5. You can make something out of anything. Be creative! Don't worry about not having the specific items! Improvise!
4. Baseball is boring. There I said it. Sorry, baseball fans.
3. Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty. Self explanatory.
2. You are not supposed to put ketchup on steak. EVER.
1. You can't love someone out of being a Kentucky fan. Sorry, guys.

Well their you have it! 10 things my family accidentally taught me. What are some things that your family has accidentally taught you?

FALL 2013 MUST HAVES: AZTEC SWEATERS

FALL 2013 MUST HAVES: AZTEC SWEATERS

My second fall must have is the Aztec sweater trend! I have a sweater similar number 4. It is soooooo comfy. I can post a pic of that if you guys want. I'm currently obsessing over these sweaters because not only are they comfy, but they are so versatile! They are light weight and breezy so they are really helpful for transitioning into fall.  I have already worn mine to class this semester and I received more than one compliment on it!  What do you guys think of this trend?

OOTD: Holding onto Neon

 Top: by&by similar similar $24.99 // Jeans: Forever21 brand $15.00 // Shoes: Mosimo c/o Target $15.00 // Necklace: Rue21 12.99 {cheaper in store} // Purse: Bar & Bar {gift}
As much as I have been loving fall I still love summertime more. I mean fall is where my neon wardrobe goes to die along with the leaves. It is still so hot here in southern Indiana and it is hard to fall into fall without having to climb my way back out for a tank top. This is where I have found that these sheer chiffon shirts come in handy. I literally found this shirt on the sale rack at JcPenney and had to have it. Some how they had my size in every color so naturally I had to buy them all. {they were on the $5 and up rack, a steal I know} I love these tops because they are covering your arms yet they let the breeze blow through so you are not dying on your hike to class. During the summertime I usually paired this top with a lace short or a white short, but like I said I am transitioning. I paired this will a dark wash jean with white gladiator sandals from Target. Which at first I was not a fan of this type of shoe, but I have worn these more than any of my other "flip flops". This is a simple and easy look to pull of for class when you are in a hurry or not so much. What do you guys think about incorporating neon into your wardrobe this fall?
